Ten zip lines, five sky bridges and one rappel make this West Virginia’s must-do canopy tour. TreeTops zigs and zags in the canopy over stunning Mill Creek Canyon.
Best of all?
TreeTops is open year round, and every season has something unique to offer. For something completely different, try it in the snow!
Part of your TreeTops admission is a “conservation fee.” What is that? TreeTops sits nestled on a 40+ acre Eastern Hemlock Preserve. The $3 conservation fee helps us protect this small section of old-growth forest from the invasive Wooly Adelgid, a small but voracious insect capable of killing these majestic trees.
Our aerial guides are trained extensively on the courses on which they work in everything from normal operations to rescue. They’re also pretty funny.
We provide harnesses, helmets, gloves and guides.
What to Bring
Closed-toed secure footwear is required. Dress for the weather: In spring and fall, bring wool or polypropylene jackets and a windbreaker. For cold and wet weather, bring a jacket or polypropylene, pile fleece and a windbreaker. Avoid loose clothing and store loose items at our facility before your trip. Sunglasses, sunscreen and a camel-back water pack are recommended. We supply gloves for braking. In winter, dress as though you were going skiing.
Where to Meet
TreeTops Zip Line Canopy Tour meets at our Mill Creek Campus.
Requirements & Restrictions
Participants must weigh between 90 and 260 lbs. You will be weighed on a go-no go scale. It’s also a good idea to consult your family physician to determine whether you are physically capable of handling an increase in activity, adrenaline and short walks up hills. In addition to 10 zip lines, TreeTops has 5 sky bridges, 2 short hikes and 1 rappel. The longer hike is 800 feet long at roughly 10% grade and the second is about 200 feet long.
Our professional guides will review the procedures, explain the hazards and quickly reassure anyone who is anxious to take the tour. You will be double-clipped onto two steel cables, which are capable of supporting more than a ton of weight. However, at anytime during the practice zip you can opt out of the tour.
TreeTops Canopy Tour was built by Bonzai Design, the premier zip-line design and build company in America.
Canopy Tours run rain or shine. We temporarily close the course during lightning storms or high winds. If we know in advance that we will be closed, we will try to contact you. If your Canopy Tour is canceled, we will offer you the option to participate in another activity, rebook for a different day or time, or issue a rain check.
